The School was established in the year 1949 and situated in the premises of Arya Samaj, Delhi Cantt.
The School was registered under the Registrar of Societies Act 1860 vide registration certificate No. S-397 of 1949-50 as ‘Arya Samaj’ co-operative crafts Society, Delhi Cantt-10 on 08.10.1949. The Directorate of Education, Delhi, recognized this institution as Arya Crafts High School in 1 st instant and afterwards it was changed to D.A.V. SCHOOL & recognized.
The School was being run by Arya Samaj Co-operative Crafts Society Delhi from 1949 to 24.05.1981.
The school was taken over by the Delhi Administration w.e.f. 25.05.1981 under section 20 of D.S.E.A.R. 1973 and consequent upon the take over Sh. R.S.S. Sishodia, the then Education Officer of Directorate of Education was appointed as Authorized Officer of the school. This taken over was also confirmed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide its order. The school remained with the department of education from 25.05.1981 to 19.12.1994.
Directorate of Education, Govt. NCT of Delhi handed over the Management of D.A.V.SEC.SCHOOL, DELHI CANTT.-10 to the D.A.V. College Managing Committee w.e.f. 20.12.1994 in the light of orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated Aug. 03-1994.
Since 20.12.1994 the school under Direct Management of Dayanand Anglo Vedic Collage, trust & Management Society which has been properly registered with the Registrar of Societies, Punjab vide No. D-30 under the Society Registration act 1860. The D.A.V. Managing Committee of the school is constituted as per the provision of rule, 59 of DSEAR, 1973.
The goals for this academic year are centered around the themes of academic excellence, extracurricular engagement, inclusivity, personal well-being, supportive learning environment, and infrastructural improvements. The achievement of these goals will require contributions from and support of all staff, students, and schools management.
Improve Students’ Academic Performance in Board classes especially (Class X which was low last year)
- Hold practice tests at regular intervals.
- Organize extra classes by teachers to provide supplemental assistance to students.
- In prevailing condition of pandemic Covid-19 remedial online/ offline classes will be conducted.
Actively engage students and faculty in activities that promote students’ academic success. This would include:
- Conduct PTMs online/ offline to update parents to keep them involved in their child’s education.
- Encourage students to appear in various Talent Search Competitive Exams.
- Organize competitions (poem recitation, story-telling, quizzes on topic like freedom struggle), poster making and essay writing (on themes like Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Yamuna Quest, Fit India Movement, Green & clean Environment, Bhasha Sangam etc) and online quiz sessions (on mathematics, Science and General Knowledge, etc.).
- Organize morning assembly talks and quiz competitions on current topics, book exhibitions, mental math quizzes, and demonstrations of science models.
- Encourage students to be regular in their school attendance.
- In-service Online/ Offline Programs conducted by SCERT & CBSE to ensure faculty efficiency.
- Conduct monthly faculty meetings where heads of main subjects mentor junior faculty on teaching skills and update them about the latest developments in curriculum and pedagogy.
